Aftermath

My first ever gig turned out to be a horror show. I made a couple of big mistakes here and there but according to most they weren't noticeable. Why so? Because my guitar was drowned out. Even more so my solos weren't heard by many, only those close to the stage. The only good stuff people heard were the bits of Ozzy Osbourne solos I played while warming up.

Now it all started by missing our soundcheck. It's not like we left late or anything, we took a wrong turn and got lost. Oh yes, in a traffic jam. Not funny.

Being my first gig and all, I had nerves all over. I guess I was pretty good at hiding it until minutes before we were up.

Now I don't want to elaborate about what happened on stage because it's something I really want to forget.

When the prizes were given out, I was pretty darn disappointed to not even get third. I'm a pretty sore loser you see, getting third would have been something but the point is I lost.

So yeah I was pretty miserable until I got praised by the bassist of one of the gust bands, Army Of Three. He said that I could shred, well he also mentioned that I stone on stage a lot.

Still when I got home I was pretty pissed at myself. So I sat down in front of my computer. Shut off MSN, opened up Guitar Pro and learned the whole of She Builds Quick Machines, by Velvet Revolver.

That did get rid of some of the disappointment.

Till next time kiddies.
